David Lansky, PhD, focuses his practice on preparation and prosecution of patent applications, as well as due diligence, freedom-to-operate, patentability, and invalidity analyses. David has extensive experience in pharmaceuticals, biologics, polymers, antibody technology, nucleic acid amplification and sequencing technologies, and AAV technology. David’s experience in patent litigation and M&A transactions informs strategy decisions in patent prosecution and patent analyses.
David’s litigation experience includes all aspects of litigation, with an emphasis in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology fields. David was part of the team that won TC Heartland v. Kraft Foods Group Brands LLC at the US Supreme Court (137 S.Ct. 1514 (2017)). David’s patent M&A experience includes several multibillion-dollar deals, two of which he represented the buyer in acquiring established pharmaceutical companies.
David joins our team after having practiced in the intellectual property groups at Kramer Levin, Hughes Hubbard & Reed, and Goodwin Procter, as well as in-house at Enzo Biochem. Before starting his legal practice, David conducted research in bioinorganic chemistry at Johns Hopkins University in the lab of Dr. David Goldberg. David's research focused on molecular modeling of the active site of cytochrome P450 to perform reactivity studies outside the protection of the protein pocket. While earning his bachelor’s degree at SUNY Binghamton, David conducted research in the area of zeolite materials chemistry.
