Armando Corona, PhD, focuses his practice on the preparation and prosecution of US and
international patent applications, prior art and freedom-to-operate analyses, and strategic
management of patent portfolios across the life sciences and chemical sectors.
Armando earned his PhD in Pharmacology and Cancer Biology from Duke University, where his
research investigated signaling pathways driving metastatic breast cancer. He earned a BS in
Chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. With academic research
experience in chemistry, biology, and pharmacology, he brings a deep technical understanding
to every aspect of his IP practice.

Before joining McNeill, Armando worked at leading IP boutiques, where he collaborated closely
with inventors, research and development teams, and in-house counsel to develop and
implement IP strategies. He has also contributed to technology commercialization efforts in a
university tech transfer setting, where he assessed new innovations for patentability and market
potential.
