Stephanie Amoroso, PhD, focuses her practice on worldwide patent portfolio strategy and management in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and chemical sciences. Stephanie has more than 20 years of experience in patent prosecution, patent litigation, and post-grant proceedings involving a broad range of technologies including small molecule and biologic therapeutics, genetically modified crops and microorganisms, bioethanol production, gene editing, vaccines, diagnostics, and nutritional products.  This diverse experience enables Stephanie to effectively provide a broad range of IP services including due diligence and freedom-to-operate analyses; invalidity and non-infringement opinions; US reexamination and reissue proceedings; managing foreign counsel in contested proceedings outside the US; and IP licensing.  Stephanie also has substantial experience and has prevailed in numerous ex parte appeals at the PTAB. 

Prior to joining McNeill PLLC, Stephanie spent a combined 12 years in a patent prosecution and counseling role at two IP boutique firms, 9 years in IP litigation at an AmLaw 100 firm, and as in-house IP counsel for an early-stage biotechnology company focused on rare genetic diseases. Stephanie was part of a team that obtained a $455 million arbitration award for the client in a patent infringement and breach of patent license dispute in international arbitration, which was affirmed by the Federal Circuit.
