Providing insight from a background in formulation, litigation, and prosecution
Vicki Lee focuses her practice on US and foreign patent applications in biotechnology and pharmaceuticals. Vicki has over six years of pharmaceutical litigation experience before the district courts and Federal Circuit, and was recognized in 2014 and 2015 as a Washington DC “Rising Star” in Intellectual Property Litigation by Super Lawyers Magazine. Vicki draws from this litigation experience when counseling clients on prosecution and clearance issues. Her litigation background can also be leveraged in contentious practice at the USPTO.
Vicki’s litigation experience includes conducting fact and expert discovery, including preparing and defending witnesses at depositions; preparing technical tutorials for dermatological drug and mass spectrometry technologies; drafting pleadings, motions, and briefs, including for claim construction and summary judgment; and preparing for district court trials and Federal Circuit appeals. Vicki was also an attorney of record for amicus briefing before the Supreme Court in the Myriad case.
Prior to joining McNeill PLLC, Vicki was an attorney at Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner, LLP. She was also an adjunct professor for Scholarly Writing for the AIPLA Quarterly Journal at the George Washington University School of Law in 2014-2015. During law school, Vicki was a summer associate at Finnegan and at Oblon, McClelland, Maier & Neustadt, LLP, and externed at the PTO Office of the Solicitor. Prior to law school, Vicki worked as a Chemist at L’Oreal USA, developing cosmetic formulations. She is a named inventor on US Patent No. 8,241,617 and US Patent Application No. 12/238,960.
